Woman, 63, killed in Shelby Township crash

Shelby Township — Police continue to investigate a three-vehicle crash that killed a 63-year-old woman Thursday.

Officers were called at about 4:35 p.m. 22 Mile east of Ryan for the crash, according to authorities. 

According to a preliminary investigation, a 2015 Kia Soul that was traveling east on 22 Mile when it crossed the center line and entered the road's westbound lanes. The vehicle struck the rear tire of a 2012 Ford Fusion and then crashed head-on into a 2011 Ford Mustang.

Police said Friday a 63-year-old woman was the driver and lone occupant of the Kia Soul. She was taken to a hospital where she died, they said.

Officials said the Mustang's driver was seriously injured.

Police continue to investigate the crash.
