Suspect sought in Chesterfield Township bank robbery

Police and FBI officials are investigating a bank robbery reported Wednesday in Chesterfield Township.

The suspect fled on foot.

A man stole an unknown amount of cash from Fifth Third Bank at 47000 Gratiot Avenue at about 2:35 p.m. and fled on foot, police said in a statement.

Township police and a K-9 unit searched the area of 21 Mile and Gratiot but couldn't find the suspect, according to the release.

Authorities also are investigating another robbery reported at a Citizens Bank on Oct. 2.
