Man, 19, killed in shooting in downtown Detroit

Detroit —A verbal confrontation resulted in the shooting death of a 19-year-old man at 110 Cadillac Square in downtown Detroit early Saturday.

Detroit Police Officer Adam Madera said the victim and his friend were getting into a vehicle after an argument with five men near the Executive Cigar Bar. One of the five men began firing gun shots at the two men.

The 19-year-old victim was struck in the right side of his head and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim's friend returned fire at the suspects who fled the scene in an unknown vehicle. Madera said it is unclear if any of the five suspects were hit.

None of the suspects were apprehended.

The shooting suspect is described as having long dreadlocks.
