Michigan woman, boyfriend arrested for child abuse
Paw Paw — Van Buren County authorities have arrested a mother and her boyfriend in connection to the abuse of her 11-year-old son.
Sheriff Dale Gribler said Wednesday a 46-year-old woman and 28-year-old man were booked at the county jail after their arrest Tuesday for first-degree child abuse.
Gribler says deputies responded to a report of a boy walking alone on a road early Tuesday. The boy tells deputies he ran away from home after being physically abused. Deputies determined there was probable cause that he was being abused by his mother and her boyfriend.
Children’s Protective Services removed the boy’s 2-year-old brother from his mother’s home in Geneva Township. Gribler says the infant didn’t show signs of abuse.
The adults haven’t been formally charged.
