Selfridge Air National Guard Base — An open house and air show featuring the U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels will be held next weekend at the Selfridge Air National Guard Base.

The event Sept. 6 and 7 will also feature military aircraft, armored vehicles and watercraft. More than 100 people are scheduled to take an oath to serve in the Air Force or Navy.

There is no admission and parking is free at the base in Macomb County’s Harrison Township. Gates open both days at 8 a.m. and will close when parking reaches capacity. The event runs until about 4 p.m. each day. About 75,000 people a day are expected to attend.

The Blue Angels will fly both days led by Cmdr. Tom Frosch. Frosch is a Macomb County native and 1988 graduate of Fraser High School.
