Lansing — Roughly 200 people have paid tribute to a Lansing woman who was killed in what police say was a murder-suicide.

The Lansing State Journal reports family, friends and community members gathered outside McLaren Greater Lansing’s orthopedic hospital Sunday to remember 43-year-old Bessie Rodriguez.

Police say 44-year-old Johnnie Conner Jr. of Lansing fatally shot Rodriguez in a domestic dispute outside the hospital Tuesday before killing himself. Police haven’t disclosed the nature of their relationship. Rodriguez was a hospital employee.

Mourners lit candles and paper lanterns for the mother of three. They described Rodriguez as a selfless person who was dedicated to her job and family.
