Official: Inmate dies in homicide
Tittabawassee Township — Michigan officials say an inmate at the Saginaw Correctional Facility has been found dead in an apparent homicide.
Sixty-seven-year-old Theodore Dyer died Wednesday in Saginaw County’s Tittabawassee Township, near Saginaw.
A state Corrections Department spokesman says authorities believe Dyer’s cellmate killed him. The cellmate has been transferred.
Dyer was sentenced in January to serve 25-50 years in prison for first-degree criminal sexual conduct.
The Saginaw News reports his death is the third violent incident reported at the facility in October. An inmate attacked a corrections officer Oct. 17 and a fight broke out between several inmates Oct. 19 in which one inmate was stabbed.
