West Branch — Authorities in the northern Lower Peninsula say they’ve made an arrest in the shooting death of a 23-year-old man outside a bar over the weekend.

The killing happened about 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot of Loggers Depot, a bar and restaurant in West Branch, the Saginaw News said.

Police said emergency crews took Brett L. Ritter to West Branch Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said in a statement that they put out an alert for a vehicle linked to the shooting, and Roscommon County sheriff’s deputies stopped it and took a person into custody.

Authorities didn’t immediately release more details.
