Kalamazoo cop car damaged during Ferguson protest
Kalamazoo — The rear window of a Kalamazoo police car was broken during an otherwise peaceful protest tied to the shooting of an 18-year-old in Ferguson, Missouri.
The Kalamazoo Public Safety Department says it has no suspects. The car was damaged Tuesday night as a crowd passed it. The protest drew 150 people, a day after a grand jury in Missouri declined to file charges in the death of Michael Brown by a Ferguson officer.
There were similar demonstrations in Detroit and on college campuses in Michigan. Dozens of protesters walked onto Interstate 75 and blocked traffic. No arrests were reported.
