Friends and family members are frantically looking for a 27-year-old Wayne State student who went missing early Friday morning after stepping out of a bar in need of some fresh air.

Ken Gruno of Otisville walked out of the Otisville Hotel Bar at about 1 a.m. leaving behind his coat and debit card.

He hasn't been seen since then.

"He had a credit card with him when he left but it hasn't been used," said Kelsea, Gruno's wife of four years. "We've had nearly 1,000 volunteers from Genesee and Shiawassee counties looking everywhere ... along roads, in fields, in sheds and abandoned homes.

"There's also been search teams from the Michigan State Police, Genesee and Shiawassee sheriff's departments, including dog teams. It's been nonstop."

Kelsea Gruno said she was working while her husband was enjoying an evening with old friends from high school at the hotel.

"I wasn't there, but everyone said he wasn't upset about anything and was just having a good time and everything," Kelsea Gruno said.

According to Gruno, her husband is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and has been attending Wayne State University since January. The couple have no children.

Ken Gruno is described as 5-foot-11 and weighs about 175 pounds. He was wearing jeans, a gray flannel shirt and work boots.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Michigan State Police Flint Post at (810) 732-1111.
