Jackson — A Jackson County teenager has been ordered to stand trial in the shooting death of his 20-year-old brother.

The Jackson Citizen Patriot reports that the 16-year-old was bound over Friday to circuit court on open murder, gun and drug charges.

The teen is charged as an adult, but The Associated Press has not used his name because a judge could reduce the charges and send the case to juvenile court.

He is accused of going into his brother’s room on Dec. 6 in their Blackman Township home and reportedly asking “Do you feel lucky?” before pulling the trigger. The teen had told investigators he thought the gun was unloaded.

Their parents were at the grocery store at the time and the brothers were the only people home.
