Port Huron federal judge dies
Port Huron — Southeastern Michigan federal Judge Lawrence Zatkoff has died. He was 75.
Zatkoff was a federal judge for about 30 years after eight years as a judge in Macomb County. At the time of his death, he was based at the federal court in Port Huron for the past decade.
Kaul Funeral Home in St. Clair Shores says Zatkoff died Thursday. His funeral will be held Wednesday at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Bloomfield Hills.
Zatkoff earned his law degree in 1966 while working full-time at Chrysler Corp. He was eastern Michigan’s chief federal judge for seven years.
