Woman, 75, dies in mobile home fire
Genoa Township — Authorities in Livingston County say that a 75-year-old woman was killed in a fire that heavily damaged her mobile home during a bitterly cold night in southeastern Michigan.
Temperatures were about minus 7 in the area early Sunday, and Brighton Area Fire Chief Michael O’Brian says firefighters needed to rotate frequently while they battled the blaze.
Neighbors tell the Livingston Daily Press & Argus of Howell that the victim was Donna Bingham.
O’Brian says a driver on Interstate 96 called in a report of a fire about 2:55 a.m. The fire was in a unit at the Sylvan Glen mobile home park in Genoa Township.
There was no immediate word on what caused the fire.
