Boy, 15, arrested in stabbing of 13-year-old sister
Caledonia Township, Mich. — A 15-year-old boy was being held in a juvenile facility Sunday after deputies found his 13-year-old sister stabbed multiple times in their western Michigan home.
The teen was arrested about 1 p.m. Saturday after deputies responded to a 911 call in Caledonia Township, southeast of Grand Rapids. They found the wounded girl there, the Kent County sheriff’s office said in a release.
The girl was taken by an emergency helicopter to a Grand Rapids hospital. Her condition was not available Sunday.
The girl’s older brother called 911 and was still at the home when deputies arrived. Their names were not released.
“You know they have that brother sister spat, obviously we all do when we are younger, but this is over the edge. This is ridiculous,” neighbor Steve Murad told WOOD-TV.
A 3-inch knife was used in the stabbing.
The father of the teens was at work at the time of the stabbing, the television station said.
Murad said the girl often plays with his children.
“Thirteen years old, whole life ahead of her, really uplifting, good girl,” he said. “Our prayers are with her. Hopefully, God and everyone takes care of her and she survives.”
