Ann Arbor — The co-founders of the Zingerman’s eateries in Ann Arbor are scheduled to deliver the University of Michigan’s spring commencement address.

The event is May 2 at Michigan Stadium.

The Ann Arbor News and The Michigan Daily report Paul Saginaw and Ari Weinzweig, co-owners and founding partners of Zingerman’s Community of Businesses, have been selected as speakers. They founded the well-known Zingerman’s Deli in 1982.

Saginaw and Weinzweig both have undergraduate degrees from the university. They’re to get honorary Doctor of Laws degrees at the ceremony.

The Board of Regents on Thursday is expected to act on recommendations to give those degrees as well as other honorary degrees at the commencement. Former Congressman John Dingell of Michigan also is expected to get a Doctor of Laws degree.
