Monroe man says he’ll stay in jail in child porn case

Associated Press

Monroe — A Monroe man charged with having a vast collection of child pornography has agreed to remain in jail while his case moves through court.

David Huntley dropped his request for bond during a hearing Wednesday in Detroit federal court.

In a court filing, Homeland Security agent Lisa Keith says Huntley admitted last week he possessed child porn. She says Huntley also disclosed he assaulted two girls.

A message seeking comment was left for his attorney.

Huntley’s case was moved to federal court this week, a few days after he was charged in Monroe County. Assistant prosecutor Michael Roehrig says there may be hundreds of thousands of images.
