Woman rescued from vehicle in Flint River
Flushing — Authorities say a 59-year-old woman was rescued from a vehicle after driving into the Flint River in Flushing.
Police were called Sunday afternoon on a report of a vehicle that had fallen into the river and caught on a large tree hanging over the bank.
Flushing police Detective Sgt. Steve Colosky says a fire department boat was used by a rescue crew to access the vehicle. He says personnel climbed on top of the vehicle, broke a window and rescued the woman.
The woman was taken to a hospital for treatment of her injuries. Her condition wasn’t immediately known as of early Monday morning.
The Flint Journal reports the vehicle likely will be removed from the river on Monday.
