Ann Arbor — A $12.5 million gift from billionaire developer A. Alfred Taubman is helping to fund a building project at the University of Michigan.

A groundbreaking event is Wednesday to celebrate the building renovation and the addition of the A. Alfred Taubman Wing. The renovation project is providing start-of-the-art facilities for the Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning.

The donation is part of a $28 million renovation and expansion at the Ann Arbor school to help students collaborate better using classroom and studio spaces.
