Ishpeming — Police in Michigan are seeing help from the public in finding out what happened to two women in their 50s who were reported missing while visiting family.

State police say Leslie Roy of Nebraska and Lee Marie Wright of Oklahoma were traveling through Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. They were last reported seen April 10 in Ishpeming and they were scheduled to stay at a motel in Mackinaw City the next day but didn’t arrive.

Family members told police the women talked about wanting to visit waterfalls or casinos. Police say they eventually were to travel to Kalamazoo in Michigan’s Lower Peninsula, but they didn’t arrive there either.

Police didn’t release the women’s hometowns. Investigators say they were traveling in a white Ford Explorer that might have had a Nebraska license plate.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Michigan State Police Negaunee Post at 906-475-9922.
