Mastadon Township — Authorities say a 70-year-old woman has died after accidentally falling from a cliff at Horse Race Rapids in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
Police say the woman identified as Sandra Waldo of Crystal Falls was taken from the scene Saturday in Iron County’s Mastodon Township and had fatal internal injuries.
State police, the Iron County sheriff department and local rescue crews were involved in the response. The rapids are located on the Paint River.
The death is under investigation.
