Saginaw — Police say a man who died while fleeing Michigan State Police troopers in Saginaw was facing charges from another police pursuit in April.

The Saginaw News reports 39-year-old Glen Shepard died after a Monday night crash. According to police, troopers were trying to pull him over and his motorcycle left the road, and he was thrown from it after hitting a fence and a building.

Michigan State Police Special Lt. David Kaiser says Shepard fled police in an SUV in April and drove through backyards and hit fences. He was scheduled for a June preliminary hearing on charges that included malicious destruction of property.

Shepard’s girlfriend LaTerrika Swearengen tells the newspaper he got the motorcycle three days before the crash, and that she still has questions about what happened in the police pursuit.
