Lansing — Police say a deputy U.S. marshal has shot and wounded a man who tried to flee out a window during an arrest in Lansing.

TV stations WILX and WLNS report the man who was shot late Thursday was taken to a hospital, where he was recovering. State police says the man had violated his parole and had several warrants for his arrest. His name wasn’t immediately released.

The deputy marshal was working with a group including the Michigan State Fugitive Team and the state Department of Corrections. The deputy marshal has been placed on administrative leave. State police are handling an investigation into the shooting.
