York Township — Two men have been charged with murder in the fatal stabbings of a 12-year-old boy and his half brother who were in southern Michigan to watch a car race.

The men are Joseph Hall, 25, of Dundee and Jesse Spurlock, 34, of Monroe. They appeared in a Washtenaw County court Friday, a day after their arrest.

Hall says he “snapped” and is sorry from the “depths of my heart.” Court-appointed lawyers couldn’t be reached for comment.

Timber Brown and half brother Jon Brown were killed at a house in York Township, south of Ann Arbor, June 13. Three more people were stabbed, including Timber’s mother.

A family friend says the Browns are from northern Michigan and were hoping to see a race at Michigan International Speedway.
