Authorities: 1 dead after house fire in St. Clair Co.
Kimball Township — Authorities say one person is dead following a house fire in St. Clair County that damaged two other homes and destroyed a car.
The sheriff’s department says the fire in Kimball Township was reported about 3:20 a.m. Friday and crews found the house engulfed in flames. Several fire departments responded to help put out the fire.
A home to the east of the original fire was heavily damaged and a car in front of that home was destroyed while another vehicle had minor damage. A home to the west had minor damage. The Times Herald of Port Huron reports no one was at the other homes at the time.
The cause is under investigation and authorities were working to identify the person who died. No other injuries are reported.
