Bicyclist dies after colliding with pedestrian
Traverse City — Authorities say a 61-year-old man who collided with a pedestrian and crashed his bicycle while riding in Michigan’s northern Lower Peninsula has died.
Grand Traverse County sheriff’s Lt. Chris Barsheff says Kenneth Paul Krych of Traverse City wasn’t wearing a helmet as he pedaled his bicycle north along U.S. highway 31 on Sunday. Krych says the bicyclist struck the woman, who was walking along the road’s shoulder.
WPBN-TV reports the crash happened around 10 p.m.
Barsheff says the man suffered serious injuries to his head and face. The Traverse City Record-Eagle reports he died on Monday.
Barsheff says the woman had minor injuries that didn’t require hospitalization.
