Kawkawlin Township — A dog has been reunited with its owners two months after going missing following a rollover crash in Bay County.

The Bay City Times reports the miniature apricot C named Baby Girl was ejected from a truck during the June 20 crash. She was traveling with one of her owners and two other dogs back to Wayne County.

A local woman named Angela Michels sought Baby Girl, but for weeks only found clues such as paw prints and food missing from traps. Michels found the dog in a live trap Sunday morning that had chicken, blankets and its owner’s slipper inside. The dog was less than a quarter-mile from the crash site in Kawkawlin Township.

One of Baby Girl’s owners, Mary Lowe Mills, says Michels is a “hero” and never gave up on her.
