Michigan State Police’s ‘Back to the Future’ post goes viral
An image Michigan State Police posted on social media Wednesday in celebration of “Back to the Future Day” has gone viral.
The Facebook post shows an MSP patrol car pulling over a DeLorean sports car. The vehicle was used in the sci-fi classic trilogy as a time machine.
In “Back to the Future II,” Doc Brown persuades Marty McFly and his girlfriend, Jennifer Parker, to travel from Oct. 26, 1985, to Oct. 21, 2015, to help their future children.
“Michigan State Police troopers stopped a silver DeLorean today for driving 88 mph in a 55 mph zone,” police wrote in its post Wednesday. “The two occupants, Dr. Emmett Brown and Marty McFly, were given a verbal warning to drive more safely on Michigan roads. Dr. Emmett Brown responded by saying, ‘Roads? Where we’re going, we don’t need roads.’ ”
By Wednesday afternoon the post had more than 101,000 likes and 112,000 shares.
