Frenchtown Township — A student was solicited in her high school’s parking lot Tuesday by an unknown man, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

The girl was approached after pulling into the lot around 7:50 a.m. at Jefferson High School, 5707 Williams, officials said. She began walking across the lot toward the school building when a suspicious man in his mid-50s pulled up and offered her $100 “to have some fun.”

The student ran into the school and was unharmed. Officials did not release her age.

The man was driving a blue or gray four-door sedan with a sunroof, possibly a Ford 500, officials said. His vehicle was captured on surveillance images released Thursday by the sheriff’s office.

Officials also released a composite drawing of him created by a forensic artist with the Michigan State Police Forensic Art Unit.

Sheriff’s deputies have increased patrols around the school while seeking help from the public to identify the man or his vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Monroe County Sheriff’s Detective Bureau at (734) 240-7530.
