The Windsor Spitfires, a junior hockey team in the Ontario Hockey League, this week called for fans to donate water, and they collected more than 55,000 bottles in 48 hours.

The Sarnia Sting, a junior hockey team across the border from Port Huron, have collected thousands of bottles, as well.

The water, placed on 35 pallets, is scheduled to be delivered Saturday afternoon at Dort Event Center, before a game between Windsor and the Flint Firebirds.

"Absolutely incredible," said Dominic Hennig, play-by-play voice and director of communications for the Firebirds.
