Howell teacher faces charges for child pornography
A teacher at Howell High School is accused of having child pornography on his computer.
Duane Millar, 56, of East Lansing is charged with one count of possession of child sexually abusive material and one count of using a computer to commit a crime. He was arraigned Thursday in 54B District Court in East Lansing.
Michigan State Police said the investigation was prompted by a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
The NCMEC had information from Google that showed there was sexually abusive activity on a user account in the social network, according to a news release from the Michigan State Police.
Officers arrested Millar on Wednesday at his home.
If Millar is found guilty, he faces up to 14 years in prison and up to a $15,000 fine.
