Gorgeous, warmer-than-normal weekend on tap for Metro area
Time to plan those outdoor activities, Metro Detroiters, because the weekend forecast promises dry weather and above-average temperatures.
The warm up will begin Friday with sunny skies and highs in the low to mid-60s, said Cory Behnke, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in White Lake Township. There will be light easterly wind.
That’s good news for the area, which usually sees highs in the upper 50s in mid-April.
“After today we’ll be going above average,” Behnke said. “Enjoy the weather.”
Temperatures will continue to creep up Saturday reaching highs in the mid- to upper 60s. Full sun and light southeasterly winds are expected.
On Sunday, Metro Detroit will cap off the weekend with highs in the upper 60s, possibly pushing the 70-degree mark, Behnke said. There will also be some light wind.
Not a single drop of rain is expected throughout the weekend.
Spring-like temperatures are expected to continue next week with highs in the upper 50s and lower 60s, according to the weather service.
