Erie Township, Mich. — A Canadian trucker has died after a chain-reaction crash on Interstate 75 near the Michigan-Ohio border.

A portion of northbound I-75 in Michigan was closed overnight until about 7 a.m. Saturday.

The Monroe County sheriff’s office says 38-year-old Amarveer Dhugga of Brampton, Ontario, was killed when his semi-truck slammed into the rear of another semi, starting a chain of collisions Friday night. Dhugga’s vehicle caught fire.

No other drivers or passengers were injured.
