Hamburg Township — Authorities are continuing to investigate the death of a 43-year-old Hamburg Township man whose body was found in a state recreation area in Livingston County.

The Ann Arbor News reports Wednesday that Hamburg Township Police Chief Rick Duffany said there’s a good chance the man committed suicide.

A medical examiner determined the man died of multiple knife wounds, but has not ruled on the manner of death.

Duffany says investigators are waiting on DNA testing and a toxicology report.

The body was found shortly after 2 p.m. Saturday in a wooded area near Bishop Lake within the Brighton State Recreation Area. The man had been reported missing after failing to return Friday night to a campsite.
