Just an hour after an armed man in a clown mask robbed a Brownstown Township Walgreens on Tuesday night, a man in a clown mask robbed two different Ann Arbor businesses on different ends of town, police said.

At 10:30 p.m., at the BP gas station on the 3700 block of Washtenaw, right off the US-23 freeway, a man wearing a clown mask and carrying a gun walked into the gas station and demanded money. A clerk at the store acceded that request, and the man left with an undetermined amount of cash, said Lt. Matthew Lige of the Ann Arbor Police Department.

A half-hour later, at the Domino’s on the 2600 block of Plymouth Road, on the north side of Ann Arbor, a man “in similar clothing” produced a black handgun, demanded money, and was given that money.

Police have yet to review surveillance footage, Lige said, but will be looking to see if the two incidents are connected, and trying to determine the identity and whereabouts of the suspect. Based on how the suspect was dressed and the way both armed robberies went off, Lige said, police believe it’s the same man.
