Temperatures continue to climb for Christmas
For those looking for a white Christmas, the remnants of the snowfall from earlier this month will have to suffice.
A warming trend that will extend into next week will bring about warmer weather for the Hanukkah and Christmas holidays this weekend.
Temperatures will head upward beginning Saturday with partly sunny skies and highs in the upper 30s.
Christmas Day will bring fairly mild weather, along with some fog, and temperatures in the upper 30s.
“It doesn’t look good for new snow,” said meteorologist Alex Manion from the National Weather Service’s White Lake Township office. “(The old snow) won’t be melting before Monday. It takes (more warm weather) to get that out of the way.”
Monday is expected to bring temperatures in the upper 40s and possibly low 50s, Manion said. There will be a chance for rain. Wind gusts of 20-25 mph are expected.
No significant snowfall is forecast in the extended forecast, although there is a slight probability of snow flurries or light snow.
