A $1,000 reward is being offered for tips in connection with a recent string of retail frauds at several Moosejaw stores in southeast Michigan.

The incidents were reported at Grosse Pointe, Ann Arbor and Birmingham locations of the retailer that specializes in outdoor apparel as well as gear, Crime Stoppers officials said in a statement Friday.

Authorities want to question two males captured on surveillance cameras at the Ann Arbor store where a retail fraud was reported Jan. 11, according to the release.

One man is described as an African-American in his 20s, 6 feet tall and 200 pounds. He was wearing a black baseball hat with the Detroit “D” on the front, acid-washed jeans, large black boots and a black zip-up jacket. His companion was described as a 6-foot-tall black male in his 20s, 190 pounds, wearing a green beanie-style Carhartt hat, acid-washed jeans, white sneakers and a dark jacket with white sleeves and an animal design on the front left.

The next day, a theft was investigated at the Moosejaw on Woodward in Birmingham, Crime Stoppers said.

A dark SUV — possibly a GMC Envoy or Chevrolet TrailBlazer with no plate — spotted leaving that scene emerged again Jan. 17 at another store on Kercheval in Grosse Pointe, investigators said. That’s where two women allegedly stole seven Canada Goose jackets at about 7 p.m., officials said.

One of the women was described as African-American and wearing a red hat and jacket with a white shirt underneath, blue jeans and yellow Timberland-style boots.

The other woman was also described as African-American and wearing a dark white-trimmed ski cap, black jacket, black pants and black boots.

Anyone with information on the incidents is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Michigan at (800) SPEAK UP, visit or text CSM and a tip to CRIMES (274637).
