The Detroit News

One person died and two were seriously injured when their car crashed during a police chase in which the speed exceeded 100 mph.

The wreck occurred early Sunday at Interstate 96 and Kensington Road east of Brighton, said Michigan State Police. The car allegedly was stolen.

The chase began in Milford when Milford police tried to pull the car over because of the report it had been stolen, said Michigan State Police.

The names of the three people in the car weren’t released by police. Investigators are trying to determine which of the three had been driving.

The Lyon Township Fire Department said two people were thrown from the vehicle in the crash and the other was pinned under the vehicle, according to the Associated Press.
