More than 140 Detroit Metro flights canceled

The continuing storm expected to dump as much as 6-9 inches of snow across southeast Michigan by the end of Friday has caused flight cancellations and delays at Detroit Metro Airport.

By early Friday, the airport had 113 canceled and 2 delayed arrivals, according to FlightStats.com. The storm warning lasts until 12 a.m. Saturday.

The flight changes started Wednesday after Delta Air Lines started offering waivers for the Great Lakes region due to weather advisories for Friday through Saturday. Detroit Metro was on the list of affected airports.
