Valentine’s Day warm-up headed to Detroit
Metro Detroiters will see a warm-up for Valentine’s Day.
Temperatures are expected to climb into the low 40s by Wednesday afternoon, a reprieve after heavy snow accumulation last week.
“Looks like a 36-hour warm-up period,” said meteorologist Jordan Dale. “We likely will have some melting.”
The warming temps are expected to bring rain Wednesday night, Dale said.
Thursday is expect to bring a chance of showers after 1p.m., with a high near 46. Temperatures will dip back down with a low around 25 Thursday night.
Snow could be back Friday, with a high near 28 and lows near 8. Saturday is expect to be mostly sunny, with a high near 30 and lows around 21.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 42. South southwest wind 8 to 13 mph. At night, a chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 38. South southwest wind 8 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
Thursday: A chance of showers after 1p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 48. West southwest wind 6 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent. Showers likely before 1a.m. Cloudy, with a low around 29.
Friday: Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 31 and a low around 14.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 33; low around 25.
Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 41. At night, a chance of rain and snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 33.
