Central Michigan student dies after falling down stairs
Mount Pleasant — Authorities say a Central Michigan University student has died after falling down stairs.
Mount Pleasant police say 21-year-old Kevin Ajluni died Thursday in a hospital, after being found early Sunday at the bottom of a home’s basement staircase. Investigators were on the scene Sunday. Authorities say there was no foul play involved but are awaiting autopsy and toxicology test results.
Police say Ajluni, who is from Oakland County’s Orchard Lake Village, had been with about 10 people at the rental home the prior evening. The gathering had dispersed but nobody had seen him.
Authorities say he was found unconscious and struggling to breathe by a resident, who called 911.
Ajluni was about to begin his career with Ryder System Inc. in Detroit, according to his obituary on the A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home website.
Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Monday at Basilica of St. Mary, 18200 Merriman Road in Livonia. The funeral service will be 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Kirk in the Hills, 1340 W. Long Lake Road in Bloomfield Hills.
