A 24-year-old Ann Arbor man is under arrest after allegedly shooting a 43-year-old man Monday night near the campus of the University of Michigan.

The shooting took place just after 9:30 p.m. Monday, on the 700 block of North University, which is right at State Street near the UM Diag. 

Police quickly made an arrest and transported the victim to the emergency room. But in the early hours of the investigation, the suspect's motive for the shooting is unclear to authorities.
