Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is set to speak at the Detroit Economic Club next week, the group said Wednesday. 

Pompeo would be the fourth sitting Secretary of State to address the club in its 84-year history and the first since George Shultz spoke there in 1987 and 1984, according to club records.

Henry Kissinger addressed the group in 1975 and Dean Rusk spoke in 1964 and '67.

Pompeo, a former Kansas congressman, served as director of the Central Intelligence Agency under President Donald Trump until his confirmation by the Senate for the State Department in late April. 

The title of his speech to the Club in the atrium of Ford Field at 12:30 p.m. Monday is "America's Economic Revival." 

Pompeo was just in Singapore with Trump for the summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
