The Ann Arbor Police Department is offering a reward for tips leading to an arrest in the murder of a retired chemistry professor.

Robert Sharp, 77, was found dead June 10 in the basement of his house on Alpine Street.

Neighbors were suspicious when they hadn’t seen Sharp, who retired from the University of Michigan in 2008, at a community meeting.

Police said evidence at the home indicates the suspect or suspects may have injuries on their hands or faces.

Anyone with information about the suspects or the incident should call the Ann Arbor Police Department Tip Line at (734) 794-6930 or Det. William Stanford at (734) 794-6930.
