Road worker struck by car in Fort Gratiot
A road construction worker is in critical condition after he was struck by a car in Fort Gratiot Township while on the job, police said Wednesday.
The 44-year-old man from Indianapolis was hit by the car Tuesday afternoon on M-25 north of Carrigan Road, according to the St. Clair County Sheriff's Office.
Fort Gratiot is about 66 miles northeast of Detroit.
Police said a 28-year-old woman from Marlette was driving her vehicle north on M-25 and struck the worker in a construction zone. She was accompanied in the vehicle by her husband and two young children, the sheriff's office said. No one in the vehicle was injured.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash, police said.
