A Sunday night altercation between friends at a Bedford Township home ended in a shooting and an arrest, police said.

At 9:30 p.m. Sunday, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office responded to the 4300 block of Consear Road. A shooting victim, a 50-year-old man, had just shown up to the home and asked the homeowner, who is an acquaintance, for medical assistance. The homeowner called police.

Police arrived and determined that the shooting took place about two miles away, on the 9400 block of Summerfield.

Police then executed a search warrant at the Summerfield home and took a 54-year-old man into custody, while also recovering the gun believed to have been used in the shooting.

The suspect is at Monroe County Jail, pending his arraignment at 1st District Court.

Police say the victim is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
