Police investigate Pittsfield Township stabbing incident

Pittsfield Township — Police are searching for the person who stabbed a man in the back at a business Friday, officials said.

The incident happened at about 11:28 a.m. Friday at a business located at 4885 Washtenaw Avenue near Golfside, according to authorities.

Officers found a Ypsilanti man, 21, who had sustained a stab wound to his back.

Police said the victim and witnesses told them the person who stabbed the man got into a verbal argument with the victim inside the establishment and it moved outside, police said.

During the argument, the victim was stabbed once in the back with what is believed to have been a knife. The attacker fled the scene in an older model, blue Ford Fusion, according to officials.

Investigators said they do not believe the victim knew his attacker.
