A pedestrian is in critical condition following a crash late Friday in Monroe Township, authorities say.

Monroe County Sheriff Dale Malone said deputies responded to a serious injury in a traffic crash that occurred at 11:47 p.m. on South Telegraph Road, north of Albain Road.

A pedestrian was attempting to cross the roadway when he was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on Telegraph.

The pedestrian was transported to ProMedica Toledo Hospital, where he is currently listed in critical condition. The driver of the vehicle was not injured in the crash.

Speed did not appear to be a factor in the crash, Malone said.

The crash is under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff's Office and anyone with information about the crash is asked to call (734) 240-7715.
