Detroit — The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is asking the public for help to find the man who stole multiple guns and silencers from a Jackson sporting goods store in 2013.

Officials said the burglary happened on May 8, 2013, at Schupbach's Sporting Goods store at 141 West Pearl in Jackson.

The ATF is asking the public to help identify the suspect in the theft of firearms and firearm silencers from a Jackson sporting goods store.

A man entered the store at about 4:30 p.m. and hid until it closed for the day. After staff left, he came out of hiding and took two firearms and 15 silencers, according to the ATF.

Officials said none of the stolen items have been recovered to date. They also said the subject may be behind another crime.

Officers believe he was a white male with a stocky build with brown, collar-length hair. He was wearing a long dark-colored shirt, dark-colored cargo pants and light-colored shoes.

Anyone with information about the burglary should call the ATF at 1 (800) ATF-GUNS or email ATFTips@atf.gov.
