Marlette — Pennywise, but pound foolish perhaps.

Two people — one of whom wore a clown mask — robbed a bank Monday in Michigan's Thumb area.

Marlette police seek the two men who robbed a bank Monday.

Officials said the robbery happened at about 9:05 a.m. Monday at the Chase Bank branch in Marlette. Marlette is about 77 miles north of Detroit in Sanilac County.

Police said the two men entered the bank, produced a firearm and demanded money. They then left the bank and got into a waiting white Cadillac.

One was described as a white male, mid- to early 20s, 5 foot 6 inches tall, about 120 pounds. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and a "clown-like" mask with red on the top.

The other was described as a white male, also mid- to early 20s, 6 foot tall, about 170 pounds. He was wearing a camouflage jacket, a knit hat and some type of mask over his face.

The Cadillac they fled in had minor front-end damage on the passenger side and was last seen traveling north on M-53.

Marlette police said the suspects who robbed a bank Monday fled in this white Cadillac.

Anyone with information about the suspects or the vehicle should call Marlette police at (989) 635-2008 or the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office at 1 (800) 881-5911.
