Police seek person who burned altar at St. Clair church

St. Clair — Police are asking the public to help identify a person who set a church altar on fire.

Officials said the arson suspect entered St. Mary's Catholic Church at 415 N. 6th St. about 2 a.m. Tuesday and set its main altar and a holy table on fire.

St. Clair police are looking for the person who set a Catholic church's altar and holy table on fire early Tuesday.

The suspect is described as a male with a slender build. He was wearing glasses, dark clothing, a poncho and was carrying a skateboard and backpack. He also had on white shoes with black trim around the sole.

Police said he was seen leaving the church about 2:45 a.m., running towards North 9th Street.
